Ben Huss

I take products from idea to people using them: 360 video and VR at my studio, audio walks at Cobble, and a dozen apps of my own that I design and code myself. I'm based in London and Somerset.

At Immersi, the London studio I founded in 2015, I make 360 video, VR experiences and interactive tours for clients such as the NHS, Jisc and Mitie, shot on drone, rover and cablecam rigs that go where most crews can't. Since 2021 I've also led the VR production for an international research consortium, recording real scenes in 8K 360 video and spatial sound. As CTO at Cobble, I lead the tech behind its audio stories, which start as you reach the places in London where they happened.

I also host The Immersive Technologist podcast, where I talk to people building VR, AR and spatial computing. I taught 360 and VR production on UCL's MA in Immersive Factual Storytelling from 2018 to 2025, and now mentor master's students there. I've also lectured at Goldsmiths, University of London. Immersi is part of the NVIDIA Inception programme.

My apps include secure document collection, deck maps for cruise ships, garden weather tools, movement breaks for desk workers and a local guide for my village in Somerset. Several began as problems of my own: Aboard Map after I got lost on a cruise ship, FileSeal after I was asked to email sensitive documents while buying a house.
