Unseam

360 stitching that does the fiddly part

360 video stitching for the Insta360 Pro 2 that keeps seams off people, paints out the tripod and shows the few places worth a look. In preview

Unseam's Check step on a food-hall shot: red and violet seam lines bend round two people at a table, their faces blurred in yellow boxes, beside a "10 places worth a look" panel and a timeline of every seam crossing

the why

I've been stitching 360 for over twelve years. Dragging control points, nudging seams off faces frame by frame, painting out the tripod, rendering, finding the one bad frame, doing it again. Unseam does that part. Less time stitching, more time living.

who it's for

360 shooters on the Insta360 Pro 2 with a Mac on Apple silicon, starting with a small preview group. More cameras later; people on Windows can sign up and say so.

what it does

  • Seams placed round people, and moved as they move, but never through the face of someone who stays put
  • People close to the rig, seen by two lenses at once, lined up frame by frame; anyone too close to fix well is left as filmed, not torn
  • A scope for stitching: a timeline of every seam it moved, every crossing it could not avoid and every face at risk, over a seam meter you can click through
  • The tripod painted out by AI fill on the Mac, with no mask to draw or clean plate to shoot
  • One render: ProRes for Resolve and Premiere Pro with your marks as timeline markers, plus 360-tagged files for Quest, Vision Pro and YouTube VR
  • Footage never leaves the Mac: no account, no cloud; faces and number plates blurred in the delivered video
  • Its own MCP server, so Claude can report overnight failures, queue a shoot or go through a shot's findings, starting a run only when you say yes

frequently asked

  • What is Unseam?
Unseam is 360 video stitching software from Immersi. It works out the stitch, keeps the seams off people, paints out the tripod, shows you the few places worth a look and delivers files ready for Resolve, Premiere Pro and headsets. It is in preview.
  • Which cameras and computers does it support?
The Insta360 Pro 2, on a Mac with Apple silicon, to start with. More cameras are planned; if you are on Windows, sign up anyway and say so, as it helps decide what comes next.
  • Does my footage leave my computer?
No. There is no account and no cloud, and nothing phones home. Faces and number plates are found and blurred through the shot in the delivered video.
  • How do I try it?
Join the preview on immersi.co.uk/unseam. A small group of 360 shooters is trying it before release.
